Vacansoleil-DCM’s Westra placed second with Oltre at Tour of Belgium

Vacansoleil-DCM’s Lieuwe Westra on Bianchi Oltre placed second in the Tour of Belgium’s GC (May 23rd-27th) behind German Tony Martin. Westra built his display in the stage-4, a 20.5 km ITT from Turnhout to Arendonk, clocking the second time on Bianchi Pico Crono Carbon with a 46 second-gap from Martin and going up from 54th to 2nd position in the GC. In the fifth and last stage, 208.5 km from Clavier to Engis, Westra got to the arrival together with Belgian Philippe Gilbert, taking the fifth place and keeping the podium.

His compatriot Kenny Robert Van Hummel on Bianchi Infinito took third in the Sprint classification, thanks to the good placements in the first three stages. Dutch rider was third in Buggenhout (stage-1), fifth in Knokke-Heist (stage-2) and runner up in Beveren (stage-3), after as many sprints won by German Andrei Greipel.

Vacansoleil-DCM placed fifth in the Teams Classification.
